The Child Development Center understands the value and importance of nutrition. We’ve seen how it plays a major role in supporting healthy growth and development in the children we serve.

CDC+ nutrition services are available to:

  • Individuals birth to 21 who would benefit from the support of a Registered Dietitian

The Child Development Center has partnered with a Registered Dietitian to ensure the nutritional needs of our children are being met. We understand the frustration and challenges of raising healthy eaters, especially when special needs come into play. We want all families to have happy and healthy relationships with food.

What you can expect:

  • Comprehensive assessment
  • Assistance with overcoming frustrations and boundaries surrounding mealtimes
  • Support and guidance with problem feeders and picky eaters through Responsive Feeding Therapy and The Division of Responsibility in Feeding
  • A multidisciplinary approach for children with Pediatric Feeding Disorder or Avoidant- Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (AFRID)
  • Nutrition counseling for obesity, eating disorders and disordered eating
  • Tailored nutrition education to promote positive relationships with food for the whole family

  • Food and sensory issues
  • Growth and development milestones
  • Food exploration
  • Distinguishing picky eaters vs. problem feeders
  • Adaptive approaches to feeding eaters with special needs
  • Tips and tricks for making mealtimes enjoyable
  • Overall nutrition counseling and education
