Balance is the ability to maintain a controlled body position during activities, whether it is sitting at a table, walking the balance beam or stepping onto a curb. To function effectively across environments and tasks, we need the ability to maintain controlled positions during both static (still) and dynamic (moving) activities. During this PATH training, we will provide strategies to help your child’s balance progress from a wide base of support to standing on 1 foot. New ideas to increase your child’s coordination in different settings such as on the playground, in school, and on a playing field will be modeled and discussed. You will go home with ideas on how you can work on building strength through daily activities.
